Today, we mark a profound milestone. A group of our vibrant, resilient, and gifted young adults are graduating high school ready to begin the next chapter of their lives. This is no ordinary graduation. Many of these young people arrived at KCC as young children, some orphaned, others rescued from desperate situations, all in search of safety and a place to belong.
STEPPING OUT
Over the years, these children have grown up surrounded by nurturing caregivers, dedicated teachers, committed mentors, and a community that has continually believed in their potential. A heartfelt thank you to the KCC mothers, staff, and everyone who has stood alongside these children on their journey to adulthood. Today, these young adults are stepping out boldly. Some are heading to university to pursue degrees; others are enrolling in vocational training programs, taking on apprenticeships, or launching small businesses drawing on skills honed through KCC’s dynamic youth initiatives. While awaiting their exam results, many have gained work experience through volunteering or acquiring paid work in KCC schools, supporting the STEM Centre, assisting the medical team at Destiny Medical Centre, or engaging in local community projects. Their hearts for service are evident and inspiring.
We met Elizabeth when she was just four years old, today she’s thriving and will soon study Business Statistics at university. When we speak to her she tells us ‘When the world turned away and I had nothing to offer the Lord brought good people in my life who saw my worth. Your belief lit a fire and now I stand strong’.
Robinson was brought into our care at a tender age, he’s since gone from strength to strength and will soon study accounting at college. He says ‘I’d lost hope but God miraculously brought good shepherds that helped me out of the wilderness and gave me a new beginning. Today I’m standing firm with a better life’
Solomon joined our family at just three years old, now he’s on track to study mechanics at college. ‘When I was young I was surrounded by poverty with no food or an education. But the good Lord brought me wonderful people that stood with me and supported me to become what I am now. I am indeed so grateful’

As they begin this next chapter, these young adults will not walk alone. KCC will continue to support them, ensuring they have the guidance, financial assistance, and mentorship they need to make a strong and stable transition into adult life. Whether it’s tuition fees, emotional support, or a listening ear, KCC remains their family and foundation as they find their place in the world.
