Destiny Medical Centre

Now open to the whole community!

In February the Destiny Medical Centre received it’s license to run a trial clinic and in the last six months we’ve delivered a wealth of lifesaving care. Not only have we extended medical care to KCC children, we’ve also landscaped surrounding grounds, trained the team, precured medical equipment, and sourced vital supplies. We’ve also gained a clearer understanding of the current urgent needs of our community, which will help us plan the care we’ll deliver in the next six months.

In June, the Destiny Medical Centre received it’s full accreditation licensing. This enabled the centre to provide care for our children while offering vaccinations, blood tests, dental care, eye care, and prescriptions to new patients. On the 24th July we opened our doors to people from our local community for the first time. It was a moment of excitement for us which quickly turned into hard work.

Today, the need throughout Kampala is great and there’s little to no affordable healthcare for thousands locally. What’s heart breaking is most of the illnesses we see are preventable and treatable. Alongside general and emergency care, we’re looking forward to providing a wide range of public health programs that will both educate our community and improve their levels of health and wellbeing.

As we embark on this new chapter we remain grateful to our hardworking staff, supportive stakeholders, and incredible community that have fuelled this journey. The Destiny Medical Centre opening is more than a milestone. It’s a promise of ongoing growth, continuous learning, and above all, compassionate, people-centred care.

We’re excited to share the impact of this lifesaving project over the next six months. If you’d like to join us and provide healthcare to local children and families, you can support the Destiny Medical Centre through a monthly or one off donation by clicking the button.
