Dated: 31st March 2020 – Thank You and Covid-19 Update from Arnold Muwonge, Founder and President of KCC
During these unprecedented times, I feel I would like to explain to our KCC supporters how we are managing the ever changing situation around Covid-19.
First and foremost I hope that you and your family are all well. We are thinking of those of you who are key workers, those of you who are self isolating, those of you who are housebound and those of you who are just managing life under the new restrictions.
As per the new government regulations, and for the safety of our employees, all KCC staff in the UK are no longer working from the office and will be working from their homes. We will endeavor to provide you with the same excellent, personable service and communication as usual, however please bear with us while we enter into this new format of working.
To date, there have been 33 reported cases of Covid-19 in Uganda and ‘lockdown’ has been implemented in the country. Starting last week, we undertook several major initiatives to protect our children and staff at KCC in Uganda. Both the onsite secondary and primary schools have closed. All needed, on-site staff remain in the KCC grounds and all other staff have been asked to work from home. All children that can live with family members in the community have been encouraged to do so. All public gatherings are not permitted, therefore all church services are suspended. An isolation house on the grounds of KCC has been established in the event of any Covid-19 cases/symptoms.
All other activities at KCC will continue as usual and we will ensure that the lives of the children at KCC will continue in a normal and enjoyable way given the current circumstances. This is only possible due to the devotion and the care of the staff at KCC, but also due to your support. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you sincerely for your continued dedication to KCC. At this difficult and uncertain time, your support of KCC is evermore invaluable. You are helping keep more than 100 children safe, healthy and happy. Thank you for your unwavering loyalty and commitment to KCC.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact a member of staff.
Thank you for your support.
Every blessing,
Arnold Muwonge
Founder and President of Kampala Children’s Centre.
